New ways of working

So, yeah, I was out and back in probably within an hour yesterday. Apart from this crazy mid-October heatwave, everything went smoothly. People were really nice and helpful, which makes me wonder whether there’s currently a loveable disabled character on EastEnders or something. Nothing would surprise me. Anyway, at least I posted my prescription and got energy meter top-ups. I can chill now, until maybe Thursday, when my medication should be ready for pickup. Not sure what I’ll do then. Probably have a stroke.

My appetite is still off, so I’m seeking very bland things to eat. I just had a simple cheese sandwich, which is now like crack to me. I can’t even cope with  strong, mature cheeses, just mild European ones (your Edams, your Goudas, your Emmentals). I’m just unable to fathom what’s wrong with me. I don’t even remember the last time I had a spicy curry. All I can manage are kormas.

Don’t look at me!

Well, the sandwich was much needed after attempting some music recording. I’m still getting used to GarageBand which, if anything, is TOO simple. I don’t like software that tries to be clever and second-guess me. I may end up just downloading Audacity, which is what I’ve been used to for years. I think they have one compatible with Mac. At least I actually recorded something, the problem was just trying to select a track region to cut This should be the easiest part of editing, but it wouldn’t let me. Alas! I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

Hey, I’m getting something creative done, which makes me happy. I’m still feeling a little hyper, but not as bad as yesterday. It nearly drove me to drink! Perhaps it’s the tea I’ve started drinking. Some say it’s more caffeinated than coffee, but I have my doubts. Then again, I do drink it black and without sugar. I also brew a thermos kettle full and leave the bags in.

I guess that’s one thing I still enjoy strong.

Oh, needing to shuffle stuff around to create a recording space meant that some furniture is now back where it was before the council did their little pick-up/drop-off thing the other week. I’ve been putting off tidying because… you know… I didn’t want to. This means I can now rebuild my pedalboard and use my fancier amps to play guitar though. Instead I’ve recently been using a small practice amp that’s sat under my coffee table. I must say though, it has been liberating going back to basics, especially while I’ve been feeling particularly uninspired.

What else? Oh, nothing really. I’ve started reading the historic novel The Leaving of Liverpool, which I know through the TV miniseries adaptation they made in the early 90s. I remember liking it a lot so, when I saw the audiobook available, I had to snatch it up. It was also part of Audible’s 2-for-1 sale which, otherwise, has some pretty low-hanging fruit on offer.

Right, the day is charging on, so I best go take a bath. I need to clean the bathroom actually, so I might do that later on today. Or now? No, I’m far too wound up from trying to figure out GarageBand. I’ll probably break a tap out of frustration or something.

Do stay in touch, darlings.

Toodles!
