If it ain't broke

One of my neighbours is blaring Shania Twain music, which I don’t have a problem with. It’s so rare that I approve of the musical tastes of anyone around here. Bless. She sounds like she’s having a right laugh.

The fireworks for Bonfire/Guy Fawkes’ Night last night were surprisingly restrained. They seemed to be over by 8 pm-ish. Maybe there are tighter restrictions on displays nowadays, which is why people set them off all month round. Well, saying that, the fireworks are going to be constant until after New Year’s Eve. It’s just that time of year.

Fuckers.

I called the council this morning about my boiler and, astonishingly, somebody’s going to come out later on today. Woo! This means, if all goes well, I’ll be able to slip into a nice warm bath today, instead of being pissed on by my weak-ass shower. And I’ll be able to do some dishes too, which are mounting up.

Oh I finally got round to building that guitar rack yesterday. I actually ended up having to assemble it about three times, as I kept getting things wrong. I’d have read the instructions but, contrary to everything you or I know about me, I’m slowly starting to become more confident with practical stuff, so just tried to figure it out myself. Crazy, huh?! Yeah.

So that’s five more slots to cradle my instruments in, rather than locking them away in their bags/cases. I hate having to dig around for stuff. Saying that, I do make some interesting discoveries in my collection once in a while. I’m all like “OMG I totally forgot I had that!”. Yup, I tragically have that many.

I should probably learn how to play them.

Some shopping arrived this morning too, so I’m pleasantly stocked up in the kitchen. I might buy in some booze at some point, but I need to pick up some medication first. I’ve changed the pharmacy I collect stuff from to one more locally now, as the one I used to go to was conveniently on the way to the pub. But that’s redundant now, for obvious reasons. Yep, I’ve still not been out drinking since that day.

Who can afford it these days anyway, am I right?

Right.

I’ve still not unboxed that new guitar, so it may end up being a Christmas Day thing. I would like to rearrange and tidy my music nook first, but trying to figure out a “better” layout is starting to stress me out a little, so I may just leave it as it is.

Hmmm…

I’ve received no updates from any other human beings over the weekend, so it’s all been rather quiet around here. Chances are, everybody will try calling once I start drinking midweek. Sod’s law, huh? Happens every time. That person who knocked on my door Friday evening doesn’t seem to have been back, so who knows what that was all about. It was probably just a delivery person who had gotten themselves lost, which still happens, even in this era of accurate and easily accessible GPS.

FFS.

Anyway, I think that’s all for now, unless some disaster befalls me later on today, in which case you’ll get another post.

Glass half full, and all that!

Do stay in touch, darlings.

Toodles!
