…as a frickin’ dawg.
I’m not sure what’s hit me, but it’s hit me hard. I started feeling weird (so much so that I remember actually saying out loud “I feel really strange… what’s going on?!”) towards the end of my TOS Star Trek movie marathon on New Year’s Eve. I initially thought it had something to do with watching six films back to back whilst eating junk snacks and drinking coffee (makes sense, right?), so I decided to start my NYE binge. Bit of a mistake, that. By the second day of my “hangover”, I was still feeling unusually terrible. I didn’t even drink that much on NYE, relative to my usual habits. So, yeah, yesterday morning I decided this wasn’t just the effects of alcohol. I must have caught something!
Oh well, I think it maybe going away now. I’ve managed to get up and do stuff as I normally would. I had a major bodily power-outage a few hours ago, but crashing in bed listening to an audiobook seemed to solve that.
I was so out of it by midnight on the 31st that I didn’t even bother to woo-hoo or anything. I think the combination of illness and booze laid me out flat. I just had a bowl of noodles and headed to bed, replaying to a couple of seasonal texts the following day. My marathon ended an hour early, which wasn’t part of the plan. I really wanted to be watching The Undiscovered Country well into 2024. Oh yeah… that’s right… we’re in a new year now, aren’t we? I best try to remember that. It usually takes everyone a while to start using the right year in January anyway.
I’m currently reheating the last of that homemade Portuguese Pork Vindaloo, which proves I’ve not lost my appetite. I’m actually warming to the dish now. Perhaps I just wasn’t in the mood the other week.
Mother’s been put in hospital, as her health seems to be declining further. While technically I have for a few years, I’m expecting the dreaded phone call from my middle brother or dad any day now. If somebody dares just text me about it, I’ll reply with a lazy thumbs down.
Anyway, I thought I best check in. I don’t have the energy yet to type too much. I hope you all have had a better end of year romp than myself.
Do stay in touch, darlings.
Toodles!
