Spirited to bed

I didn’t go on the exercise bike in the end, as I eventually became so weak that I had to carefully shuffle around the flat from support to support. I did manage a bath though, in fact I nearly fell asleep in there. I’m so glad I stopped taking horrid showers.

After my bath, I lay in bed for what seemed like forever. I was going to stay there, but decided to make dinner instead, seeing as how it would involve just roughly chopping vegetables then frying off a few lamb steak slivers. I did offer myself the opportunity of a takeaway, but I wanted to fight back against whatever it was that was making me feel so, I don’t know, iffy.

It was worth it in the end, as my Lamb & Roasted Vegetable Medley was gorgeous! This time, I cut a lemon and a lime in two and just rested the halves on top of the other veggies. What flavours! Scrummy. I saved the cauliflower leaves to make an East Asian dish with tomorrow, as apparently kimchi has cauliflower leaves in them. Plus I can’t abide waste.

Here’s what I made today. Behold!

I do need to shorten my roasting times though, as this new cooker is far more efficient than my rickety old one, so stuff keeps getting a little too dried out.

After dinner, I had a lie down on the bed and fell asleep for maybe half an hour or so. I’m not sure. I’ve woken up feeling more energised, so I’ve now got a cafetière of coffee waiting for me to pour. Spirited Away is also in the DVD player, and I’m finding it a lot more accessible in Japanese. I really do not much care for Disney’s star-studded dubbed versions. Old-school “cheesy” anime dubbing was a lot more fun and, well, honest.

Do stay in touch, darlings.

Toodles!
